HA KO Washi Paper Incense Set

30,00

Incense like no other: delicately handcrafted from fine washi paper, each HA KO piece blends traditional craftsmanship with olfactory elegance. Born on Awaji Island, the historical birthplace of incense in Japan, this unique format was created by Kunjudo, a house founded over 130 years ago.

Both a sensory and decorative object, HA KO releases its fragrance even without being lit: simply place a leaf on a small dish in any room and it will subtly perfume the space for approximately 3 months. It can also be burned, for a more intense and meditative experience (burn time: 5 to 7 minutes). And it slips perfectly into an envelope — a delicate scented surprise upon opening.

This set contains:

  • A light wooden box with 5 paper incense leaves (No.1, No.2, No.3, No.5, No.8)

  • 1 fire-resistant felt pad

This set does not include:

  • Ceramic plate (shown in the photo)

Size: H108 mm × W78 mm
Handcrafted in Japan – Awaji Island

How to Use HA KO

  1. Decorative Mode (Potpourri)
Simply place a scented leaf on a small dish (tray, plate, etc.) — in your entryway, living room, bedroom, or any living space. It will gently diffuse its fragrance for approximately 3 months, depending on temperature and humidity conditions.

  2. Incense Mode (Burning)
Light the tip of the HA KO leaf, gently blow out the flame, then place the smoldering leaf on the fire-resistant felt provided, making sure it rests on a non-flammable surface. It will release its aroma for about 5 to 7 minutes while delicately purifying the space.

  3. Scented Surprise Mode (Gift or Correspondence)
Slip a HA KO leaf into a card, letter, or gift package — it will unveil a subtle and delicate fragrance upon opening, for a poetic and thoughtful gesture.
